WASHOE VALLEY, Nev. — The Nevada Division of Forestry State Tree Nursery in Washoe Valley is now open for the season. The nursery will be open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, until June 8. Hours for the rest of the season are from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays

A variety of trees and shrubs are available and cost between $4.50 and $20. Plants are to be used for conservation purposes such as water conservation, windbreaks, soil erosion control and improving wildlife habitats. The nursery accepts cash and checks only. For the nursery policy and plant list, visit www.forestry.nv.gov.

It is not the intent of this program to provide landscaping materials for small home lots. Landowners with one acre or more, or adjacent landowners owning a total of an acre, can purchase plants.

The nursery is located at 885 Eastlake Blvd on the north end of Washoe Valley. For more information, visit www.forestry.nv.gov or call 849-0213.
