RENO — The PGA TOUR announced Dec. 7 that The Children’s Cabinet has been named the organization’s 2012 Charity Of The Year. As part of the award, The Children’s Cabinet receives a $30,000 grant from the PGA TOUR to support the organization’s family and youth programs. The Children’s Cabinet is a northern Nevada non-profit organization that exists to keep children safe and families together by offering services and resources that address unmet needs in the community.
The Children’s Cabinet was nominated as the PGA TOUR’s 2012 Charity Of The Year by the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation after the non-profit participated in the 2012 Reno-Tahoe Open’s Women’s Day in July. The Children’s Cabinet was selected as the 2012 Charity Of The Year out of 45 nominees from PGA TOUR tournaments across North America.
