Washoe County Sheriff’s Deputies are on the scene of a single-vehicle rollover accident that happened shortly after 12 noon on Interstate 80 in Pershing County, about 10 miles west of Lovelock. Deputies said that a Chevrolet sedan was traveling east bound on the freeway near mile marker 95 when, for reasons unknown, the driver lost control of her vehicle and it subsequently rolled over. The driver and her daughter, who they believe is about 3-5 years of age, were both ejected from the vehicle during the accident. The vehicle rolled over in the median area and currently one west bound travel lane is partially blocked. The female driver sustained fatal injuries at the scene and her daughter is being airlifted to Reno by Care Flight. The extent of the toddler’s injuries is not known at this time. Names have not been released.
