LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Henderson man has died after rescuing two children from the flames of an overturned deep fryer.

Clark County coroner's officials say 41-year-old Leopoldo Rodriguez died Tuesday of his injuries following the Saturday house fire on Reeder Circle in Las Vegas. He was one of five people taken to the hospital in the incident.

Clark County fire officials say a dozen or more people were at the home Saturday when a deep fryer, situated on an enclosed front porch and over an open flame, was knocked over. The spilled oil ignited and the fire spread to the house and attic.

Witnesses say Rodriguez dashed through the flames to grab two children and take them out of the home.

Two dogs were found dead at the scene.
