SPARKS –  Amanda Flangas has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Sales at John Ascuaga’s Nugget, the hotel and casino announced Tuesday. Flangas has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 25 years, and she has been with The Nugget since 2001. Her previous positions at The Nugget include National Sales Director, Director of Sales, and Executive Director of Sales.

“Amanda is driven, dedicated and hard-working,” said Michonne Ascuaga, CEO of John Ascuaga’s Nugget. “We are lucky to have her as a part of our team, and we know there is no end to what she will be able to accomplish as Executive Vice President of Sales. ”

In her new role, she will oversee the Convention and Leisure Sales departments, as well as Convention Services.

“I am honored to take on this new role and look forward to many more years working for the Ascuaga Family.  My team will strive to increase room night production in all sales arenas here at the Nugget,” said Flangas.

In addition to her work in the hospitality industry, Flangas also founded her own local non-profit organization, called the Give Hope Foundation, which raises money for families in Northern Nevada with children battling catastrophic illnesses.
