He’s back for a senior campaign and Lowry received the clinic Friday.
In a crossover league match held in Truckee, Partida scored three goals and assisted on two others in a 7-2 Sparks win.
“Kevin took it upon himself to make sure they didn’t score again unless it was a good goal,” Sparks boys soccer coach Frank Avilla said. “Not taking anything away from Lowry, this is not the same Lowry of the past couple years.”
Sparks scored first in the 26th minute, but the Buckaroos tied it up when the Sparks keeper came out to far and a ball bounced over his head.
Then it was all Partida and Sparks. Hector Hernandez added a goal. Freshman Joseph Dominguez scored a pair of goals when Lowry began focusing on Partida and Hernandez. Juan A. Hernandez punched in the final goal.
Sparks (9-0, 1-0) takes on Elko and Spring Creek in crossover league action today. Games are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Spanish Springs 2, North Valleys 0
The Cougars stayed undefeated in league play, taking down their first High Desert League opponent of the season Friday night under the lights.
Spanish Springs got a pair of first-half goals to secure the win.
“I feel good. I think our guys are getting used to each other,” Spanish Springs boys soccer coach Rob Moreland said. “They’re looking up and seeing each other and making good passes. We controlled that whole game. We should have scored more goals, but that will come.”
Spanish Springs (3-0) will face Reno Wednesday night.
