Reno’s three representatives on the All-PCL Team marks a new franchise record.
Eaton has been one of the most dynamic players in all of Minor League Baseball this season, and has been one of the premier hitters in the PCL since making his Triple-A debut in April. Entering play today, he leads the PCL in batting average (.379), hits (181), stolen bases (tied, 37), doubles (44), on-base percentage (.452), runs scored (117) and extra-base hits (256). Eaton led off for the PCL club in the 2012 Triple-A All-Star Game.
Elmore and Wheeler made their Triple-A debuts with the Aces this season, and now both have since had their contracts purchased by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Elmore left the PCL with a .344 batting average, 40 extra-base hits, 73 RBIs and a .442 on-base percentage — all career-bests. He was tabbed a starter in the 2012 Triple-A All-Star Game, and made his Major League debut on Aug. 11.
Wheeler was Minor League Baseball’s best run producer this season before earning his first call-up to the Major Leagues. He left the Aces with 90 RBIs, which — at the time — led all Minor League hitters. He led the Minors with 50 hits in June, carried a .351 batting average with the Aces and was a starter in the 2012 Triple-A All-Star Game. Wheeler made his big-league debut on July 20.
The 2012 trio joins Collin Cowgill (2011), John Hester (2009) and Cody Ransom (2011) as Reno’s all-time All-PCL selections.
