Reed went down to Sin City for the Las Vegas Invitational and swept its first three matches in the preseason tournament.

The Raiders beat Canyon View (25-9, 25-20), Las Vegas (25-18, 23-25, 15-8), and Moapa Valley (26-24, 27-25).

“I’m really happy with how we played today,” Reed volleyball coach Kristen Flagtvedt said. “We came out really strong against Canyon View in the first game. Then we played Las Vegas and Moapa Valley, and they’re very good teams. The good thing about the last game is we were down a few points, and the girls came back to win.”

Reed closes out pool play today against Durango and then will start bracket play.

•In the same tournament, Spanish Springs also swept the competition, but didn’t lose a game versus Virgin Valley, CW North (Riverside, Calif.) or Rancho.

The Cougars will play Palo Verde today.

“The girls played really well. We will face much tougher competition tomorrow,” SSHS volleyball coach Frank Sandomenico said. “We played all the girls, and they all did fine. We did as well as we could have today.”
