Police are investigating the death of a toddler in Sparks.

On Monday night, Sparks police, firefighters and an ambulance responded to a a call about a “non-responsive toddler” at a house on Lepori Way.

Sparks Police spokesman Det. Rocky Triplett said the toddler’s parents called at 8 p.m. Monday after they found their daughter unresponsive in bed. Paramedics tried to revive 3-year-old Jessica Haberle but she was pronounced dead about an hour later at Renown Medical Center.

Police say they obtained a search warrant after they noticed the house was extremely dirty. They also discovered drug paraphernalia inside.

No charges have been filed.

The Washoe County Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy on Tuesday. Triplett said the final results are still several weeks away pending a toxicology report, but he said there are no outward signs of injury that would have caused the girl’s death or that would lead investigators to suspect a homicide.
