RENO — The Washoe County Library System has offered proctoring services to the community for many years. These services, while appreciated by those who need them, are staff time-intensive, for both preparatory tasks and the actual proctoring of exams. With the loss of more than 95 positions since 2008, the need to maintain other services that benefit a broader clientele and the fact that several other organizations in the community offer proctoring services, the Library Director recommended to the Library Board of Trustees that WCLS no longer provide proctoring.

Proctoring will continue to be available from several local entities, including but not limited to the following: the University of Nevada, Reno; Truckee Meadows Community College; the University of Phoenix and Sylvan Learning in the Reno-Sparks area; and Sierra Nevada College; and the eLearning Café in Incline Village.
