Urban Watershed Awareness Day needs volunteers

RENO — Truckee Meadows Watershed Committee (a partnership between the cities of Reno and Sparks and Washoe County) and Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB), will hold a volunteer-based urban watershed storm drain stenciling day Aug. 18.

The focus of the day is on protecting the Truckee River from urban pollution.

To volunteer for Urban Watershed Awareness Day contact KTMB at staff@ktmb.org or 775-851-5185.

The event begins at 8 a.m. Aug. 18. Volunteers will be designated a meeting location in northwest Reno, southwest Reno and midtown when they sign up to volunteer.
