The Division of Parole and Probation is tasked with monitoring sex offenders in the community who are currently being supervised for terms of parole, probation and lifetime supervision. The majority of these cases have special conditions that impose restrictions on the offender. While the Sex Offender Registry is tasked with informing the community of the presence of any Tier 2 or 3 sex offenders, the Division of Parole and Probation can take a more active role through special operations to enforce rules/special conditions placed on sex offenders after hours and over the weekend.
Operation SOLACE resulted in a total of 135 supervised sex offenders being contacted to ensure compliance and four arrests for parole, probation and lifetime supervision violations. Searches conducted resulted in the seizure of alcohol, pornography, marijuana, a tablet computer, and a cell phone.
