RENO — Eddie Floyd, CEO of Nevada Matters and host of “Nevada Matters” talk show heard locally on 99.1FM TALK, Fox News Radio, has been selected to be on the advisory board of My Journey Home of Nevada.

My Journey Home of Nevada was founded by Elaine Voigt, and is a nonprofit that assists returning military men and women, as well as those recently released from incarceration. Floyd volunteered to be spokesman for the organization almost two years ago, and even promotes them on several of his radio talk shows on a few different local stations in Northern Nevada.

My Journey Home refurbishes donated computers, loads them with Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows and then donates the machine to a veteran or ex-prisoner who also receives the training necessary to assist them in returning to the workplace or into society.

Floyd joins several prominent political and business leaders in the community who are on the advisory board for My Journey Home of Nevada, such as first lady Kathleen Sandoval, state Sen. Don Gustavson, state Assemblyman Ira Hansen and Jerry Evans of Evans Broadcast, 99.1FM TALK and Cowboy Country KCMY.

“I am doing this not just because I feel what I personally went through was a mistake which needs to be rectified, but more importantly because it is the taxpayer as well as our U.S. veterans who are being taken advantage of by our very own government,” said Floyd. “And we all should do something to help!”
