RENO — Bethel #2, the Reno chapter of Job’s Daughters, is hosting a fundraiser bazaar on Aug. 18 and individuals and businesses are invited to participate.
The Jobie Bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Washoe Masonic Lodge, 601 W. Peckham Lane. The event will have more than 30 parking lot booth spaces, each featuring arts, crafts, services and many other wares. The Job’s Daughters will be hosting food, game booths and small-business bingo. The Bethel is offering a standard 10x10 outdoor space for $50. Four premium inside booths will be available for $100 each.
Bethel #2 will be selling picnic lunches with a variety of items to choose from. A family can purchase a picnic basket filled with their choices or single lunches will be served in a “bindle,” which is a sack or fabric-filled bundle attached at the end of a stick. Picnickers will be invited to eat on blankets that will be laid out for them on the lawn area. The Job’s Daughters girls will also be having old-fashioned game booths such as a cake walk and dunk tank.
Small-business bingo will be held in the Masonic Temple. Businesses sponsor a spot on the bingo card by donating a prize valued at $50 or more and the numbers will be replaced with the business’ logo on the card. When calling, the person will say the name of the business and a tag-line instead of a number. Participants will be asked to promote the bazaar at their business by displaying a promotional poster.
The local Job’s Daughters chapter will be taking donations for one of its members, 16-year-old Maddie, who has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently being treated in San Francisco.
