RENO — As construction site safety issues continue to grab national attention, the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors today recognized its most conscientious companies.
The Nevada Chapter held its 15th Annual Golden Hard Hat Awards Luncheon this week in the downtown Harrah’s Convention Center.
Companies including building and engineering general contractors, specialty contractors and suppliers were recognized for AGC of America Awards based on no lost time from accidents.
In conjunction with June as National Safety Month, AGC also presented its prestigious Golden Hard Hat Award; awarded to the “Best of the Best” in safety.
AGC of America Awards were given to more than a dozen local firms. This award recognizes a quality safety record by comparing safety records against the average of national AGC members of similar size and type.
The companies have a zero incidents rate or are 25 percent or more below the division average.

McClenahan Company, K7 Construction Inc., Lindell’s Painting Service, Lucky Concrete, Inc., Northern Nevada Concrete, Omboli Interiors, Pape Machinery, Inc., PAR Electrical Contractor, Inc., PDM Steel Services Centers, Inc., Quilici Constriction, Raven Construction, Reno Iron Works, Reno
Tahoe Construction, Silverado Excavating, TNT Construction, Inc., United Construction Company and Valley Concrete Company, Inc. for “No Lost Time.”
The Division Awards went to Raven Construction for General Contractor in the Building Division Best Safety Record Under 50,000 hours; Core Construction Services of Nevada for General Contractor for Building Division Best Safety Record for over 50,000 hours.
In the General Contractor, engineering division, Gerhardt & Berry Construction, Inc., won for General Contractor Engineering Division Best Safety Record under 1000,000 hours. Sierra Nevada Construction, Inc. won for best General Contractor in the engineering division for best safety record for over 100,000 hours. Granite Construction Company won for General Contractor in engineering for Best Safety Record for over 400,000 hours.
