RENO — On Sunday, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northern Nevada will offer up three types of food for soul: blessings of animals, high-quality food from The Dish Truck and the spiritual renewal that comes from a good sermon followed up by soul satisfying food.

The service, “Annual Blessing of the Animals,” starts at 10:30 a.m. at UUFNN, which is located at 780 Del Monte Lane, two driveways west of the traffic circle at Kietzke Lane and Neil Road. Congregants and visitors are invited to bring a small animal, such as a cat or dog, or a photograph of your animals, to the service to receive a blessing (or virtual blessing) from the Rev. Neal Anderson.

After the service concludes at 11:30 a.m., visitors, guests, members and possibly pets will have the opportunity to partake of food served by the Dish Truck. The Dish Truck menu is diverse and includes such things as cowgirl tri tip panini, Greek lamb meatball pita and organic Spinach salad, as well as giant cookies, dessert bars and award-winning cupcakes.

“I’m excited to offer the entire community the opportunity to have their animals blessed,” Anderson said. “You don’t need to be a Unitarian to for your pets to benefit from this service. Stop by for either the animal blessing, human spirit renewal or good food and fellowship.”
