RENO (AP) — A Mogul man faces up to life in prison after being convicted of killing his younger brother in September during an argument over a cellphone.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports a jury deliberated about five hours Monday before finding 48-year-old Robert Davis guilty of murder with a deadly weapon. Sentencing before Washoe District Judge Scott Freeman was set for Aug. 8.

Forty-three year old Matthew Davis was shot to death at the brothers’ home west of Reno on Sept. 10.

During an earlier preliminary hearing, neighbors and sheriff’s deputies recounted incidents of domestic violence between the siblings.

Authorities say deputies separated the brothers after they initially went to the home, but Robert Davis later returned and the confrontation escalated.
