RENO (AP) — The man charged in the November hit-and-run death of a Reno TV sports director has pleaded guilty.

Sparks resident Ryan Rhea entered the plea Friday to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident causing death.

Authorities say 41-year-old JK Metzker was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing a Reno street on Nov. 12 after the Nevada-Hawaii football game. He died the next day.

Reno police later caught up with the then-23-year-old Rhea and arrested him.

KOLO TV reports he faces 2 to 15 years in prison at sentencing Sept. 14.

Metzker had worked for the CBS affiliate KTVN Channel 2 for nearly 14 years. He leaves behind a wife and three sons.
