CARSON CITY — A commercial vehicle hauling 40,000 pounds of auto parts tipped over Tuesday morning, blocking traffic on a busy thoroughfare.

At 9:38 a.m., Nevada Highway Patrol troopers responded to a call in which a semi-truck and box trailer, driven by 61-year-old John Charles Head from Reno for High Mountain Transportation in Lockwood, were traveling west on Fairview Lane in the left-turn lane to go south on Carson Street. As the semi negotiated the left turn, the load shifted causing the semi-truck and trailer to overturn onto its right side. All travel lanes were blocked for approximately 45 minutes. Southbound Carson Street remained closed until 2:30 p.m because it took four heavy-duty tow trucks to right the semi-truck and trailer.
