The program is designed to provide education and recognition of the rich Hispanic heritage many students in the district share.
Students in the program will have the opportunity to play on stage with Grammy-nominated Mariachi artists Jose Hernandez and Mariachi Sol de Mexico during Artown events in July 2013.
The program seeks to engage students, which leads to better attendance and graduation rates.
