In the first accident at noon on Friday, Donald Evans, 55, from Oakland, Calif., was riding a 2012 BMW motorcycle southbound on State Route 487 two miles south of Baker, Nev. An antelope entered the southbound travel lane and the motorcycle struck the antelope.
Upon impact, Evans was ejected from the motorcycle. Evans died while en route to the hospital.
The second accident occured on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Robert Armour, 26, from Spring Creek, Nev., was riding a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on State Route 228 at a high rate of speed. Armour failed to negotiate a right hand curve.
The motorcycle crossed into the oncoming travel lane travel on onto the west dirt shoulder, hit a marker post and overturned. Armour was ejected from the motorcycle.
Armour was transported to Northern Nevada Regional Hospital and died shortly after arrival.
Speed is a contributing factor and alcohol is suspected in this accident.
