RENO — Sierra Nevada Community Aquatics (SNCA) would like to thank everyone who attended the Adopt-A-Pool at Idlewild pool over the last week. The number of people who came out to help with this year’s event exceeded expectations.

The event Saturday had 100 volunteers from most user groups and even some of the neighbors who live in the Idlewild Pool area.

SNCA would like to congratulate the Lakeridge Swim Team for bringing out the most volunteers. They will receive the 10 free tickets to the Aug. 25 Aquafest event.

The participation breakdown is as follows: Lakeridge – 35, Reno Aquatic Club – 19, SNCA – 11, Sierra Nevada Masters – 10, city of Reno – 6, independents – 6, Sierra Nevada Water Polo – 4, NV Energy – 3, Reno Area Triathletes – 3 and Northern Nevada Aquatics – 3.

This week from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at the Traner Pool, volunteers will be needed to help with cleaning, painting, repairing expansion joints, assistance with building preparation and pump start up.

The Traner Pool is located at 1600 Carville Drive in Reno. For more information, call 334-2269.
