SPARKS — Hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts have already registered for Street Vibrations Spring Rally and hundreds of others will join them for the official kickoff to the riding season. It’s a three-day party with live entertainment, death-defying motorcycle stunt shows, great food, motorcycle vendors and more from Friday through Sunday on Victorian Square.

Street Vibrations Spring Rally is free to the public.  Motorcycle participants pay a fee.

There will be live entertainment, arm wrestling competitions, bike games and competitions, slow races and crowd-pleasing motorcycle stunt shows throughout the three-day event.

Globe of Death: John Stotts exhibits unbelievable speed and controlled balance in his Globe of Death. Catch his show Friday at 2:45, 4:45 and 6:45 p.m., Saturday at 12:45, 3:45 and 6:30 p.m. and  Sunday at 11:45 a.m., 1:45 and 4:15 p.m.

Aerial stunts and jumps: LivFast team members will perform jaw-dropping aerial stunt shows.  These daredevils jump motorcycles 50 feet through the air, 30 feet off the ground ramp-to-ramp and land on what appears to be a postage stamp. LivFast will perform Saturday at 11:45 a.m., 2:30 and 5:45 p.m.

Live entertainment: Enjoy a variety of bands performing a wide spectrum of music throughout the event. You’ll find non-stop blues, funk and soul music; alternative rock from Rigorous Proof; hard rock and classic rock from Scarlet Presence; and rockabilly from Hellbound Glory. Cheap Lick, a Cheap Trick tribute band, will serve up humor and rock while the High Octane Dance Band performs songs from the ‘80s to today. Crush serves Beatles tunes and more with crunchy electro-rock productions.

Catch The Unauthorized Rolling Stones in the Celebrity Showroom at John Ascuaga’s Nugget at 9 p.m. Friday. Tickets cost $10. (See story at right).

Examine rolling Rembrandts: Ride-in shows allow participants to showcase their bikes. They also provide motorcycle enthusiasts with a chance to check out the artwork, chrome and customization on some of the finest bikes in the West.

Ceremonial Flag Raising: “This year we’re having our traditional ceremonial flag raising by the Spanish Springs High School Junior ROTC on the entertainment stage across from John Ascuaga’s Nugget at 4:45 p.m. Saturday. The national anthem will be sung by Nevada showroom entertainer Tamara Evans,” Roadshows producer Randy Burke said.

Special Event Locations: Most Street Vibrations Spring Rally event activity will start, end or take place entirely on Victorian Square in Sparks but the rally has expanded to include some additional locations.

Chester’s Reno Harley-Davidson is an official Street Vibrations Spring Rally vendor and the Market Street dealership will be hopping throughout the weekend with live entertainment and great deals.  Catch Alias Smith’s hard and relentless classic to contemporary rock at Chester’s Reno Harley-Davidson on Saturday.

Specialized events for motorcycle participants: While Vendor Village will provide non-stop entertainment with bands and groups throughout Victorian Square in Sparks, registered motorcycle participants will take part in “poker runs” showcasing scenic rides in and around Reno-Virginia City Carson Valley.

At each poker run stop, participants draw a card and try to compile the best poker hand to claim prizes.

For their $40 registration fee, participants get an event T-shirt, a ride pin, they participate in poker runs and ride in shows, enjoy special parking and VIP parties with entertainment.

Fun continues Sunday: Live entertainment continues on Victorian Square and trophies and medals will be awarded in the Open Bike Competition which is open to all motorcycles.
