The Spanish Springs Cal Ripken Baseball League has already posted its All-Star rosters for the state tournaments that Spanish Springs will host at Eagle Canyon Park from July 12-15.
Rosters for all five age groups can be viewed on its home page http://www.calripkenbb.com/ and the winners of the state tournaments will move on to regionals. Last year, all five of its All-Star teams won their respective state tourneys.
This year, regionals will be held at Los Altos, Calif. (9’s & 10’s), Elk Grove, Calif. (11’s — 70 feet) and Taylorsville, Utah (12’s — 70 feet).
In the meantime, Spanish Springs Cal Ripken has games up until the second Saturday in June. Closing ceremonies are June 13.
In the Majors division, the Red Sox are running away with first place. There’s a four-way race for first in the AAA as the Pirates, Red Sox, Phillies and Giants are all within striking distance. In the AA, it looks like it will either be the Cubs or Red Sox coming out on top, but there are no guarantees in baseball.
The two Sparks Little Leagues are also winding down.
Friday’s poor weather caused for some cancellations and could lead to some rescheduled games if teams end up tied in the standings.
The Giants had already clinched first place in the Majors Division with their 14-2 record.
The Sparks National Little League is scheduled to wrap up its season Wednesday with the end of the season tourneys starting on Friday and concluding on June 11th with the championship games.
The Hooligan and Renegade All-Star Tournaments will run from June 20-26, while the District I All-Star Tournaments won’t start until June 27th and will end July 11.
The Sparks Centennial Little League won’t be fully done until June 9, but the Majors Division concludes on Friday. According to the latest standings, the Rangers appear in a good position to take first in the Majors Division, while the Yankees have been the top regular season performer in the AAA.
When the District All-Star Tournaments begin, some opponents might look familiar for the Centennial All-Stars. The Majors Division has played cross-league games this season against Carson and Reno American.
