RENO — Students of the Washoe County School District have stepped up to help children with cancer and their families in northern Nevada. These students have raised money and awareness in response to a district-wide competition, in which Incline Elementary School was declared the winner after raising the most money for the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation (NNCCF).

The Northern Nevada Parent Teachers Association put out the fundraising challenge to Washoe County schools and the children of Incline Elementary responded, raising more than $1,000 to help NNCCF as they provide direct financial assistance to families in need as they battle childhood cancer.

At 2:15 p.m. Monday, there will be a presentation of funds with the students of Incline Elementary School Student Council. The event is open to all as NNCCF congratulates and honors the enormous efforts of Incline Elementary School students for helping others in their community.
