CARSON CITY — Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller is reminding candidates for public office that the deadline to file the first campaign contribution and expense (C&E) report of the year is end of the day Tuesday. All C&E Reports are to be filed electronically through the secretary of state’s Aurora campaign finance disclosure database, and will then be immediately available on the website to the general public. The Aurora system is accessible online at www.nvsos.gov.

“The use of the Aurora and the requirement for all C&E reports to be filed electronically in one common database brings a new level of transparency to our process,” Miller said.

C&E report #1 will cover campaign contributions and expenses from Jan. 1 through May 18. Filing deadlines for the remainder of 2012 election cycle are:

• C&E report #2: June 8 (for the period of May 19 through June 7)

• C&E report #3: Oct. 16 (for the period of June 8 through Oct. 12)

• C&E report #4: Nov. 2 (for the period of Oct. 13 through Nov. 1)

• C&E report #5: Jan. 15, 2013 (for the period of Nov. 2 through Dec. 31)
