“Having only recently opened our new cultural center, we feel privileged to be hosting such high-caliber musicians,” says Anthea Humphreys, the museum’s executive director. “The Nevada Arts Council, the Sparks Tribune and John Ascuaga’ Nugget have made it possible to offer this event for free to local area residents and museum members.”
To reserve a spot in the banjo and fiddle workshops, call 355-1144. The workshop is at 4 p.m. and the free concert starts at 7 p.m. in the Cultural Center upstairs at the museum.
Seating is on a first-come first-served basis. The Sparks Heritage Museum is located at 814 Victorian Ave. just off Interstate 80 at Pyramid Way in Sparks. For more information, visit www.sparksmuseum.org.
