RENO — The senior leadership of the Nevada Highway Patrol will be honoring and recognizing four employees for their demonstrated performances that earned each person a 2011 Employee of the Year award. These four employees excelled in their particular work area in job performance, leadership and work ethics.

Additionally, the American Red Cross Northern Nevada Chapter will be receiving an appreciation award for its gracious efforts, actions and timely response to the fatal collision involving a commercial motor vehicle and Amtrak passenger train last June in Churchill County.  The annual award ceremony was delayed as one of the employee’s was off on extended medical leave. The specific accomplishments of each employee will be read at the ceremony when their award is presented.

Employees to be recognized:

• 2011 Sergeant of the Year: John Schilling

• 2011 Dispatcher of the Year: Serenity Simpson

• 2011 Civilian Employee of the Year: Debbie Wenzel

• 2011 Trooper of the Year: Tom Bostleman
