MINDEN — The Stronger Economies Together (SET) Regional Team will meet in Minden on Tuesday and Wednesday to continue its work toward a regional strategic plan for an eight-county area of western Nevada. The team will be reviewing economic data on assets in the region, learn about population changes in the region and begin focusing on ways to target industry clusters based on the infrastructure and assets available.
The SET strategic planning process is a 10-month long process for the Western Nevada Development District, which is comprised of the eight counties in rural western Nevada: Carson City, Douglas, Lyon, Mineral, Churchill, Storey, Pershing and Humboldt as well as the incorporated cities and tribes within them.
The SET meetings will take place at the Carson Valley Inn from 1 to 5 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon. Anyone interested in attending can contact Carl Dahlen, at 230-0075 for more information.
The Nevada SET is a collaborative effort of the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development, the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Nevada Rural Development Council, Connect Nevada, the University of Nevada Small Business Development Centers and the University Center for Economic Development.
