RENO — The Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) is hosting WolfStock, a music festival featuring 15 different artists, from noon until 10 p.m. on May 5 at the University of Nevada, Reno John Sala Intramural Fields. Pre-sale tickets to the festival cost $8 with a UNR student ID and $30 for general admission.

Flipside Productions, a department within ASUN that produces events and programs for undergraduate students, is primarily responsible for the creation of WolfStock. Director of Flipside Huili Weinstock and Flipside Concerts Chair Jeremy Comba designed WolfStock based on popular music festivals such as Coachella, Sasquatch, Outside Lands and Heat.

“The purpose of WolfStock is to create a fun and relaxing environment for students to enjoy before the end of the semester,” Comba said. “Moreover, it will be a great way to bring the entire Wolf Pack community together.”

Headlining WolfStock will be the reggae group Rebelution and rap artist Murs. Thirteen other student and local bands and musicians were selected by Flipside through an open submission process to perform at WolfStock. Local and student performers selected to perform include Jimmy Dukes, The Rigorous Proof, New Car Smell, Gremlin, The Letdowns, Kronyak, Daily Dose, Subdocta, The Kanes, Yukon and the Territories, DJ Phaidon, UVR and Wombatcombat.

Comba hopes offering a mix of musical genres will bring a variety of show-goers to the event.

“We feel that having students perform at WolfStock will help encourage their fellow student body to come out for the event,” Comba said. “Plus, it gives university students a great opportunity to showcase their work.”

WolfStock tickets are on sale now through April 27 and April 30-May 4 at the third floor box office of the Joe Crowley Student Union. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $10 for UNR students and $30 for general admission.
