RENO — LPGA Hall of Fame golfer Annika Sorenstam returns for a second time to the Reno-Tahoe Open to help kick off the region’s only PGA Tour event during the third annual Women’s Day on July 29.
While the event again features a golf demonstration, it also includes more high-end retail elements than ever before and serves as a launch pad for tournament week. The annual event now includes an exclusive Montrêux home tour and a progressive food and wine experience showcasing a selection of fine wines on Montrêux’s 18th green peninsula, including a special kick-off toast featuring Sorenstam’s own brand. A portion of the proceeds from Women’s Day benefit The Children’s Cabinet and tables of eight are available for $1,600 with individual tickets available for $225 each. Tickets can be purchased by calling 322-3900 or e-mailing info@renotahoeopen.com.
Only 250 spots are available for this year’s event featuring one of the world’s top female golfers, who in 2010, was featured at the inaugural Women’s Day, which was named a “best of show” runner-up among all PGA Tour special events. Individual demonstrations are also raffled off for one-on-one time with Sorenstam, as well as for a variety of other prizes.
