A laboratory in Texas used DNA analysis on the bones and have determined them to be the remains of David Williams, a 62-year-old Reno resident who went missing almost five years ago.
Williams was reported to RPD as a missing person in August 2007. His vehicle was located in 2007 at a park near where the remains were found. At that time an extensive search was conducted in the area but his remains were not located. In 2011, the bones were found in very dense brush that had to be cut away by a Reno public works crew to find a majority of the remains and other items. RPD detectives do not believe foul play is involved.
