At 11:50 a.m., police responded to a call near Marvin Moss Elementary School, located at 2200 Primio Way. The woman said she was walking west on South D’Andrea Parkway at Dirienzo Lane, just east of the school. She said a vehicle pulled up across the street and two men got out. One of them tried to strike up a conversation and began walking towards her. As the woman walked away, the man followed. The second man opened the rear hatch of the vehicle as the first suspect began running towards the woman telling her to come to him. The woman ran from the suspects to the school and the police were notified.
The suspects are described as tall, white or light-skinned Hispanic men with dark hair. They were wearing black, pull-over hooded sweatshirts and light-colored cargo-style pants. The vehicle is described as a white, older-model, mid-sized SUV similar to a Ford Explorer or Chevy Blazer. The rear hatch on the vehicle opened in an upward direction.
Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies and helicopter patrol officers searched the area but did not find the suspects. Details of the case were provided to the principal and staff of nearby schools.
