The 45th annual Western Nevada Science and Engineering Fair will be taking place at the Lawlor Event Center on the UNR campus through Sunday. Some 1,200 students from more than 130 schools will participate by displaying individual and group projects. Shea Stewart, a fourth-grader from North Tahoe School, points out to fellow classmate Devon Schmidt a feature of a project created by Connor Gibson, a sixth-grader from Jesse Hall Elementary School in Spanish Springs. Connor’s project on wildfire fuel combustion received an Honorable Mention Award.
