The panel, which took the action Wednesday, will consider allegations that Salerno violated ethics laws by not disclosing businesses ties with one big casino when he voted against another casino project.
Developer Harvey Whittemore filed the complaint after Salerno voted against his Lazy 8 casino project in Spanish Springs.
Salerno’s printing company has a business relationship with John Ascuaga’s Nugget, which opposed Whittemore’s project.
Salerno denies his ties to the Nugget influenced his votes.
