President of the board of directors is Rev. Neal Anderson, minister of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northern Nevada.
Vice president is Rabbi Teri Appleby, of Rabbi of Temple Sinai.
Treasurer of the board is Father Chuck Durante, pastor of St. Teresa Avila Catholic Community and pastor-administrator of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School in Carson City.
Secretary of the board of directors is Rabbi Emeritus Myra Soifer, of Temple Sinai.
The other founding directors are: Rev. Rich Smith, minister of Reno First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ; Rev. Mike Margerum, deacon of St. Paul Episcopal Church, Sparks; Rev. Carl Wilfrid, minister, Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd; and Rita Sloan, coordinator of the Life, Peace and Justice Commission of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Reno.
ACTIONN is an affiliate of the PICO National Network, a national network of faith-based community organizations working to create innovative solutions to problems across the country. With more than 1,000 member organizations representing one million families in 150 cities and 17 states, and a growing international effort, PICO is one of the largest community-based efforts in the United States.
“I was motivated to create our community organizing interfaith work for three purposes: to create deeper relationships among the people of my congregation, to build their leadership skills and to create justice for suffering people in our community,” Rev. Anderson said.
