Law project expands free services

RENO — The Washoe County Senior Law Project (WCSLP) announced an improvement of public services Friday in its efforts to help homeowners avoid foreclosure.

The WCSLP offers free seminars on foreclosure prevention as well as the opportunity to meet with a certified housing counselor from the federal Housing and Urban Development department.

The next seminars are scheduled for 9 a.m. April 7 and noon on April 20 at 1155 E. Ninth St. in Reno.

The WCSLP, founded in 1991, is a HUD Certified Housing Counseling program providing free foreclosure prevention assistance to homeowners of all ages as well as other free legal services. Its services are confidential and have helped many homeowners.
