WCSO and BLM officers have often worked jointly in the past few years investigating such incidents involving illegal dumping and abandoned property on public lands.
Authorities remind the public that illegal dumping is a federal offense that carries a minimum $525 fine and a maximum fine of $1,000 and up to 12 months imprisonment for the first offense. This penalty does not include costs for restitution.
