RENO — More than 500 guests in red attire gathered on March 2 at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa for the eighth annual Go Red for Women Luncheon. This year, the American Heart Association’s Go Red luncheon raised more than $201,000 in efforts to support women’s heart health.
The distinguished annual purse auction and the Open Your Heart fundraiser portion of the luncheon, led by the personal stories of five local heart disease survivors led to significant donations for the cause. The top sponsors of the successful event were Renown, IGT, EMPLOYERS and the Atlantis.
All proceeds from the event will benefit women’s heart disease research, educational materials and community programs for women and educational programs for health professionals and their patients about women and heart disease.
