Woman arrested for trying to murder her boyfriend

RENO — A 37-year-old woman is in custody after she allegedly tried to kill her boyfriend.

Antwanette Denise Dennis is charged with attempted murder with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm for allegedly trying to stab and burn her boyfriend early Saturday morning. Reno police officers were summoned to 2745 Wrondel Way #E at about 2 a.m. on the report of a battered victim. Upon arrival, they found the victim inside with a stab wound to the chest and severe burns. The victim claimed that he had been in an argument with his girlfriend, Dennis, when he fell asleep for an undetermined amount of time. He later woke up to find himself suffering from severe burns and a stab wound to his chest. When he was found by a neighbor who called the police, the stab wound on his chest had been bandaged and he was wrapped in a blanket. It is believed that the victim was left lying in the residence for an unknown amount of time.
