RENO — After a great amount of discussion with the leadership of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, friends and family, Todd Vinger, the current Washoe County Undersheriff, has made the decision to remain with the Sheriff’s Office and is no longer pursuing candidacy for the office of Washoe County Commissioner for District 4, which encompasses Sparks, Spanish Springs and Wadsworth.

Vinger came to the Sheriff’s Office in early 1988. He began his career as a deputy and worked his way through every rank of the organization and has decided to remain second in command of the Sheriff’s Office, where he will continue to create and act upon major cost-cutting initiatives and transformative improvements for the Sheriff’s Office.
