SPARKS — Sparks is home to one of the nation’s top McDonald’s restaurant managers. Chris McCafferty recently received the Ray Kroc Award, an annual recognition of the top performing McDonald’s restaurant managers in the country. Named after the founder of the McDonald’s Corporation, the award was established 13 years ago to honor hardworking restaurant managers who make Kroc’s vision of excellence come to life in restaurants and for customers each day.

A select 142 managers were chosen this year to receive the Ray Kroc Award, an honor that comes with a cash prize, a trophy, ring and pin and a trip to Chicago for an awards gala on April 3 hosted by McDonald’s USA President Jan Fields.

“Being honored with the coveted Ray Kroc Award is a true testament to Chris’s unwavering commitment to excellence, building our business and taking care of our customers’ needs each and every day,” said Mary Pelton, owner of the McDonald’s restaurant in Sparks. “We are truly proud to have Chris as part of our McDonald’s family and commend him on this truly amazing accolade.”

McCafferty has worked at McDonald’s for nine years as a manager. He is also involved in giving back to the community by partnering with local organizations such as Gymnastics Nevada and Hyster Equipment Rental, and was instrumental in providing meals and drinks to the firefighters fighting the Caughlin Fire in November.

I understand you're a great manager but how do you work for an owner who cheats on his wife with other managers who have just been caught for embezzlement and now taking your job as a store manager???
