WASHINGTON — Nevada Sen. Harry Reid on Friday honored Wilbur and Theresa Faiss, who were recognized during a ceremony in Las Vegas. They received an award that is bestowed upon the longest-married couple in the United States.

“I congratulate Theresa and Wilbur Faiss on the incredible achievement for which they’re being honored today,” Reid said in a press release. “This ceremony and recognition is well-deserved, and we can all learn from the tips and secrets of a loving relationship that has endured the test of time. I wish Theresa and Wilbur the best and congratulate them on 78 years of marriage.”
