One more week to enter school upgrade project

RENO — Public and publicly funded charter K-12 schools in Carson, Churchill, Douglas, Humboldt, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey and Washoe Counties have one week left to enter Dolan Automotive Group’s $30,000 School Upgrade Project. Starting Feb. 15, project proposals go through two rounds of voting by fans of Dolan’s Facebook page and one elementary, one middle and one high school will be selected to receive $10,000 each to fund the proposed school project.

Entries for the School Upgrade Project are due Feb. 14. Area principals or teachers are encouraged to submit a proposal explaining how students or schools would benefit from a $10,000 donation on the “School Upgrade” tab of the Group’s Facebook page,

Starting Feb. 15, entries will be featured on the Facebook page and northern Nevada residents will be able to vote for a favorite project until Feb. 21 when the top four schools in each category advance to round two. A second round of voting will be held from Feb. 22 through 28 to select the three winning schools. Project proposals are at the discretion of the school and only one proposal per school is accepted. Submissions must be from K-12 public school employees in Carson, Churchill, Douglas, Humboldt, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey or Washoe counties. All schools must be publicly funded.

Checks will be distributed March 1 and 2.
