RENO — At about 10 p.m. Friday, Reno police officers responded to Lakeside and Lymberry on a report of a battery that just occurred. During the investigation, officers learned that the victim was walking north on Lakeside Drive near Virginia Lakes when she was approached by the suspect. The suspect tried to engage her in conversation and she crossed the street to avoid the suspect. The suspect then ran up behind her and grabbed the victim by her shoulder. The victim spayed the suspect in the face with pepper spray and she was able to flee to a nearby store. The victim was not injured and the suspect fled the area in an unknown direction driving a late ‘80s or early ‘90s metallic green Toyota Tacoma X-cab with unknown license plates.

The suspect is described as a white male adult about 45 years of age, six feet four inches tall and about 210 pounds. The suspect had brown curly hair that appeared bushy. The suspect was last seen wearing reading glasses, a blue zip-up jacket, blue jeans and white work gloves. The suspect was possibly sprayed with pepper spray and may have orange dye on his face.

Anyone with information in regards to this case is urged to contact the Reno Police Department Detective Division at 334-2115 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
