RENO — Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives have arrested a third man in connection with the burglary of guns in Storey County earlier this month.

On Sunday at 6:30 p.m., detectives contacted Robert Jake Allen, a 20-year-old Sun Valley resident, in the 5200 block of Carol Drive. Allen was arrested and booked into Washoe County jail on one count of unlawful use of a credit card and two no bail probation violation charges. No other stolen items were recovered.

On Jan. 9, the Storey County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential burglary in the Virginia City Highlands, where numerous guns and ammunition were stolen, along with credit cards, knives and other property. One of the suspects used a stolen credit card from the burglary in the Reno-Sparks area. The Storey County Sheriff’s Office did a media release with surveillance photo’s from one of the transactions. Based upon the media release, the Storey County Sheriff’s Office received a Secret Witness tip identifying Daniel Garcia, another Sun Valley resident, as a possible suspect. Garcia was arrested Jan. 10.

Detectives are reporting that three firearms (one pistol, one rifle and one shotgun) remain outstanding as well as several bows and knives.
