LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a 30-year-old woman killed when she was hit by a pickup truck in a crosswalk on a busy street northeast of downtown Las Vegas.
The Clark County coroner found that Shantah Joshua-Dorsey died from blunt force injuries in the crash just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at Eastern and Cedar avenues, just north of the U.S. 95 freeway.
The Las Vegas Sun reports her death was ruled an accident.
No charges were immediately filed against the driver, 51-year-old Florencio Reyes-Rivera of North Las Vegas.
Police say he was making a left turn when his 1984 Ford F-150 hit Joshua-Dorsey.
Authorities have been focusing on pedestrian and traffic safety after several recent fatal crashes involving people crossing streets in southern Nevada.
