LAS VEGAS (AP) — A former Navy SEAL has been sentenced to 60 days in jail for his conviction on seven counts of battery in a drunken rampage last March at a Las Vegas Strip nightclub.
Defense attorney Ross Goodman says Luke Shawley was sentenced Thursday by Clark County District Court Judge James Bixler after a jury found him guilty in August. Shawley is due in court again on Jan. 17.
KSNV-TV reports that videotapes showed Shawley wielding a pipe during the melee at the Tao nightclub.
Authorities say at least one person was knocked unconscious and three people were hospitalized after the attack.
Shawley used to be based in San Diego. He said he remembered having 8 or 9 drinks, and nothing else.
Tao records showed he bought at least 18 drinks.
