RENO — McDonald’s restaurants of northern Nevada will host a fundraiser for the family of JK Metzker, longtime sports director for KTVN-TV who was killed Nov. 13 after being hit by a drunken driver while crossing the street near the University of Nevada, Reno. Metzker leaves behind his wife, Jaimie, and three young sons.
On Dec. 14, the McDonald’s restaurants located throughout the Reno media market will donate 20 percent of all sales between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. to the Metzker Family Fund to assist with the Metzkers’ financial needs. The community is encouraged to visit the restaurants between these hours to help the Metzker family in their time of need.
