RENO — Teams of high school students with disabilities, teachers and counselors representing school districts from across the state gathered for the fifth annual Nevada Student Leadership Transition Summit on Nov. 9 and 10 to increase graduation rates and improve postsecondary outcomes through a greater focus on college and postsecondary preparation.

The student leaders and their adult allies participated in community building activities, heard motivational stories of transition from national and local young adult speakers, attended a vendor fair, created and refined transition action plans and implemented those plans upon returning to their school sites following the event.
